Adolescents is an essential developmental stage characterized by marked biological and psychological changes. Behaviourally, adolescence is associated with volatile emotions and boundary-testing behaviors. The strongest stereotype of adolescents are portrayed in countless television shows and movies, and decision-making dilemmas. But one problem that stands as a vehement impediment is the rejection by their loved ones or peers.
Many people especially adolescent grow up with fear around abandonment. Some are plagued by this fears consistently throughout their lives. They worry they'll be rejected by peers, loved ones and the entire social circles. Everyone experiences this fear at different levels. Most of us can relate to having heightened anxiety over thoughts of rejection. Sooner or later, this feeling of rejection amongst adolescents amass to fear of failure. For one to succeed in life or any activity, he/she must undergo the process of failure. For example a young person with the fear of rejection already in him feels it's better and safer not to make an effort than to try and take the risk. People mostly succeed by having courage and hope from their loved ones, so as adolescent with the fear of rejection (especially from loved ones), it is nearly impossible for that person to succeed.
Now our world today is a innovative one and adolescents who suffer from major dilemmas such as fear of rejection, decision making etc, can seek help from the social media. Social media today is an essential function in our lives, be it positive or negative. The social media contribute a positive agenda to these feelings in which adolescents visit to help them grow psychologically. These fear of rejection is most likely to lead to mental discover; and the social media implement steps to overcome the fear.
